Ten Heads
Draft encode. This preview is cut from the current master, which is still awaiting final approval. The page will switch to the approved master before launch.
Dussehra evening, day four of one payment bug. His sidekick turns Devansh's worst coding habits into a ten-headed Ravan and, with his permission, burns nine of them into marigold petals.
The tenth head won't burn. It's the reason for the other nine, and it's the one only Dev can deal with.

On this site we leave out the name Devansh uses for his sidekick.
Part 1 · Ten heads (the preview covers up to "human debt")
A file called RAVAN.md slams open on a dhol beat: ten glowing bubbles fanned out like an effigy's heads, a pill reading "Ravan found · 10 heads · owner: devansh", and a waiting command, ./ravan_dahan.sh.
Sidekick (gasps) Happy Dussehra! I found your Ravan!
Devansh (deadpan) That's my commit history.
The heads fill in: console.log("here") ×347 · // TODO: fix later (2021) · commits after 3 AM ×61 · lunches skipped ×19, plus smaller ones — final_FINAL_v3, works on my machine, 47 tabs open, // don't touch this, estimate: 2 hrs (took 3 weeks). The tenth head is grey, with a question mark.
Sidekick (cheerfully) Three hundred forty-seven console logs. … All saying "here."
Devansh (defensive) I needed to know where I was.
Sidekick (gasps) And you skipped lunch nineteen times!
Devansh Skipped lunch is not tech debt, yaar.
Sidekick (seriously) It's human debt. (excited) Shall I burn them?
A permission card: "Run ./ravan_dahan.sh?" It will remove 347 console.logs, close 212 TODOs, stop commits after 2 AM and set lunch to 1 PM daily. Allow or Deny.
Devansh (sighs) …Fine. (He clicks Allow.)
To a dhol roll, nine heads catch fire one by one and burst into marigold petals, not ash. Firelight flickers on Dev's face. Stamps appear: console.log ×347 → 0 ✓ · TODOs (2021) → closed ✓ · lunch → 1 PM daily, attendees: 1 ✓. The grey head only sputters: "can't resolve · not in any repo". The music stops.
Part 2 · The tenth head
Sidekick (softly, puzzled) This one won't burn.
Ghosts of the nine heads flicker back, each tied to the grey one: "root cause: #10". Inside it, a git log for payment-bug, day 4: fix 02:47 · fix? 03:12 · fix pls 03:40 · why 03:58. Beside it, Monday's team-chat message from Kavya (SDE-1): "free this sprint, anyone need a hand? 🙂" — seen by devansh, no reply.
Sidekick (softly) Every 3 AM commit says "fix." … Not one says "help."
Devansh (quietly) I'm the senior, yaar. … I'm supposed to know.
The question mark retypes itself: "10 · ahankaar (ego)" — अहंकार.
Sidekick (softly) I can't burn this one for you.
Dev types to Kavya: "Hey Kavya, no rush at all, small doubt, probably nothing, whenever you're free—". Outside, the society's Ravan Dahan begins: a cheer, crackers, firelight across his face. He deletes it all and types: "Kavya, I'm stuck. Help? 🙏" He sends it. The grey head bursts into petals. Heads: 0.
Kavya replies: "4 DAYS?? 😭 it's the timezone. UTC vs IST, line 88."
Devansh (laughs, voice breaking) …It was the timezone.
Kavya: "you can always ask me, you know 🙂" … "also lunch tomorrow. whole team's going 🍛". His calendar updates: Lunch · 1 PM · attendees: 1 → 6.
Sidekick (whispers, hopefully) …Seven, if I come?
Devansh (laughs through tears) Happy Dussehra, [the sidekick's name].
End card, with marigold petals settling: "Happy Dussehra. Some heads only you can burn." Then: "Tag the friend you'd text 'help'." And a small line of greetings: शुभ दशहरा · শুভ বিজয়া · ದಸರಾ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಶುಭಾಶಯಗಳು · விஜயதசமி வாழ்த்துகள் (Happy Dussehra, in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada and Tamil).
