Terms and conditions of sale

1. Who we are

This website and the products on it are offered by Sudo Sukoon, an independent animation studio in Bengaluru, India ("we", "us"). Purchases are sold and delivered by our Merchant of Record, Gumroad, under its own terms of sale as well as these terms. Email: sudosukoon@gmail.com.

By buying a product you agree to these terms, our licence and our refund policy; the checkout asks you to confirm this before you pay. Using this website is covered by section 8 (acceptable use), our privacy notice and our disclaimer. You must be at least 18 years old to buy.

2. Who sells to you

For purchases in US dollars, our Merchant of Record, Gumroad, is the seller of record. It takes your payment, calculates and collects any applicable sales tax or VAT, issues your receipt and delivers the files. Its own terms apply to the payment itself. We provide the products, the licence and support.

Purchases in Indian rupees, when they open, will be processed by a payment gateway on our behalf, and we will be the seller. This section will be updated before INR checkout opens.

3. Products and licence

Each product page and the pricing page describe what is included and what you need to use it. Course lengths marked "planned" may change slightly when recorded. Buying gives you the rights set out in the licence; the products themselves stay ours.

Products marked "Soon" are not on sale yet.

4. Prices and taxes

• USD prices are shown before tax. The Merchant of Record adds any local VAT or sales tax and shows the total before you pay.
• INR prices are the full price you pay, with all taxes included, once INR checkout opens.
• Buying from India before UPI opens? You'll pay in USD at our Merchant of Record's checkout, which may apply regional pricing and adds Indian GST; it shows your final total before you pay. The ₹ prices on this site apply once INR checkout opens.
• Payment methods: those offered at our Merchant of Record's checkout; UPI and Indian cards once INR checkout opens.
• A founding price, when offered, applies for 30 days from that product's launch, and its end date is shown on the pricing page. We don't use countdown timers or artificial scarcity.
• If a price is shown wrongly because of an obvious error, we'll tell you and offer a full refund or the correct price.

5. Delivery

Products are delivered digitally. See the delivery policy for timings and what to do if nothing arrives.

6. Refunds and cancellation

All sales are final. Our products are instant digital downloads that can't be returned, and the Chai Round is a pay-what-you-want contribution, so we don't give refunds for change of mind. This is shown before you buy: on the pricing, course, tools, home and episode pages, in the FAQ, and on the checkout page.

As the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require, products that are defective, deficient, spurious, not as described or advertised, not delivered, or delivered later than our delivery policy promises are fixed, replaced or refunded. If you're in the EU or the UK, you lose your right to withdraw from a digital purchase only if, before the download started, you expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged losing that right, and this was confirmed in your receipt; otherwise the right applies. Our Merchant of Record may also refund a purchase on its own terms. A full refund, or a chargeback decided in your favour, ends the licence for that product. Every product is a one-time payment, so there is nothing to cancel. This doesn't affect your statutory rights. Details in the refund policy.

7. Support and updates

We provide email support, aiming to reply within 2 business days, and v1.x updates for at least 12 months after purchase. Course access lasts for as long as we sell the course, and at least [to fill: minimum years of access] years; the step-by-step guides are yours to download and keep. Support covers installing and using the products on a Mac with Apple Silicon; it doesn't cover writing your episodes for you.

8. Acceptable use

Don't use our products or this website to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, impersonate real people or brands, deceive audiences, harass anyone, or create sexual content involving minors or non-consensual imagery. Follow the content-labelling rules of the platforms you publish on.

9. Intellectual property

We own the products, this website, our episodes (their scripts, artwork, animation, music and the audio we generated for them), our characters' designs and our brand. The licence explains what you may do with the products, and that what you make with them is yours. Any third-party names are used only descriptively (see the disclaimer).

10. Disclaimers and liability

We teach a process; we don't promise results such as reach, followers or earnings. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first; most problems are solved by email. Subject to your right to approach a consumer commission or the National Consumer Helpline, and to any consumer-protection law that lets you bring a claim where you live, disputes go to the [to fill: Jurisdiction (e.g. courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka)]. If you live outside India, choosing Indian law doesn't take away the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and we'll note the date of every change at the top of this page. Each purchase is governed by the terms dated on or before the day you bought; ask us for an earlier version.
