Licence
In plain English
Personal licence: one person, commercial use allowed. Everything you make is yours — videos, audio and captions — on channels that earn money, in sponsored posts and adverts, and in projects you're paid to make for clients, with no royalties, ever. No credit required (a credit is welcome). Modify the tools for your own and your clients' projects. Plain downloads, with nothing to activate.
Keep the tools, prompts and lessons to yourself (and your seats). Don't pass on copies, post them publicly, or build them into anything that lets other people make videos without their own licence — another course, a template repo, an app or an online service. Don't use our characters, our episodes or their audio, our music or our brand.
Team licence: up to 5 named seats. v1.x updates for at least 12 months; the tools keep working after that.
1. Who this licence is between
This licence is between you and Sudo Sukoon, an independent animation studio in Bengaluru, India ("we", "us"). It covers the Studio Course, the Studio Toolbox and each tool in it, the Writers' Room Kit and any other digital product we sell (together, the "Products"). If you buy through our Merchant of Record, it sells the Product to you; this licence still governs how you may use it.
2. What we grant you
When you buy a Product, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Product:
- Personal licence: for one named natural person, on any devices that person uses.
- Team licence: for up to five named people in one organisation. You may swap a named seat if someone leaves; tell us by email.
The licence starts when your payment is confirmed and continues until it ends under section 9.
3. What you make is yours
Videos, audio, captions, scripts and other material you create using the Products ("Outputs") belong to you. You may use Outputs for any lawful purpose — on channels that earn money, in sponsored posts and adverts, and in projects you're paid to make for clients — with no royalties and without any watermark or credit. A credit is welcome but never required.
This doesn't give you rights in our characters, episodes, episode audio, music or brand, even if they appear in course examples (see section 5), or override the licences of third-party components (see section 6).
4. Changing the tools
You may read, modify and extend the source code, prompts and templates in the Products for your own projects and for projects you do for clients, as long as the modified versions stay within the people covered by your licence.
Clients get your finished Outputs and any project files you wrote. They don't get the tools, prompts or lessons; a client who wants to run the tools needs their own licence.
5. What's not allowed
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you may not:
- pass on, sell, rent or sublicense copies of the Products or any part of them, including versions you've changed;
- post the Products, or substantial parts of them, anywhere public, such as a public repository, a file-sharing site or a marketplace;
- build the Products into anything that lets other people make videos without their own licence, such as another course, a template repo, an app or an online service;
- use our characters (Devansh and his sidekick), their designs or likenesses, audio or music from our episodes, our logo or brand, or anything confusingly similar;
- present yourself as us, or suggest that we endorse your work;
- remove copyright or licence notices from the Products;
- use the Products for anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful, including impersonating real people.
6. Third-party components
Some Products include third-party software components. Each component keeps its own licence, and each download lists them; those licences apply to those components alongside this one. We are not responsible for changes to third-party components outside our control, but we aim to update the tools when they change (section 8).
7. Nothing to activate
The Products are plain downloads. There's nothing to activate and no online check: the tools never contact us, collect no telemetry, and your project files never leave your Mac. Because nothing is enforced by software, this licence relies on you: sections 2 and 5 apply just the same.
8. Updates
We provide v1.x updates for at least 12 months from your purchase, through the same download library. After that, the version you have keeps working; you're not required to buy anything to keep using it.
9. When the licence ends
The licence ends automatically if you get a full refund for the Product or a chargeback for it is decided in your favour, or if you seriously break section 5 and don't fix it within 14 days of our email asking you to. When it ends you must stop using the Product and delete your copies. Outputs you made before it ended remain yours.
10. Warranty and liability
We make the Products carefully and test them on the platforms we list, but software and teaching material can contain errors. Apart from the promises in this licence and the rights consumer law gives you, we don't give any other warranty, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Product concerned.
Nothing in this licence limits rights you have under applicable consumer law, including India's Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or our duty to fix, replace or refund Products that are defective, deficient, spurious, not as described or advertised, not delivered, or delivered later than our delivery policy promises. All sales are otherwise final (see the refund policy).
11. Governing law
This licence is governed by the laws of India. Subject to any consumer-protection rights that let you bring a claim where you live, disputes go to the [to fill: Jurisdiction (e.g. courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka)].
